Costas Spirou – Keynote Speaker at ICSS 2009 Fall Conference
As the world awaits the deadline for the selection of the city and nation chosen to host the 2016 summer Olympics, our luncheon speaker will be Costas Spirou, a Professor of Social Science, at National-Louis University and author of Urban Tourism and Cities of the 21st Century (Routledge, 2010).
At our conference on October 2nd Dr. Spirou will speak on globalization, urban competition and the Olympic games as the IOC makes its choice from Denmark. We believe this will be a relevant topic for the day. Olympic sites have been both political and global in perspective and often times have lead to international ramifications. |
