This special one-day conference offered educators ideas and activities on how to use primary sources in social studies to provide local, national, and global perspectives to teaching and learning. The sessions focused on the over 12 million digitized primary source documents available on the Library of Congress web site. Session topics included the following:
  • Using primary sources to connect the local community to US history
  • Literacy in the social studies
  • Developing DBQs in US and world history
  • Developing web quest to build technology skills and content learning
  • Using primary source-base activities for English language learners and students with special needs
